I have a broad background in Ecology, Mycology and Entomology based in New Zealand, but am currently developing skills with a position as a Research Assistant investigating the evolutionary ecology of Malaria.
I have a keen interest in biological rhythms. Given the high prevalence of biological rhythms in organisms spanning different kingdoms, they must play an important role in an individual's fitness. Currently, I am investigating the consequences - for Malaria parasites - of being temporally mismatched to host circadian rhythms (analogous to jet-lag) using the rodent malaria parasite, Plasmodium chabaudi.
